The Late Rev. W.E. Graham 1940– 1969
People’s M.B. Church was organized in May of 1940. Pastor W.E Graham with his wife and 12 original members had their first service at 415 Tecumseh Street. In March of 1962 a search began for a new home. In November of the same year the first meeting was held in our new home at 1101 Heston Street. The pastor had much support from his staff and Associate Ministers Rev. Jasper Wiggins and Rev. Cunningham. Pastor Graham served faithfully. He retired in January 1969 and in 1972 he went home to be with the Lord.
The Late Rev. Alvin Curry 1969 –2003
In August of 1969 Pastor Alvin Curry of Detroit, Michigan was called to Pastor. He , with his wife by his side was installed in September of 1969. He organized new auxiliaries and made many improvements including two additions to the church. He served for 35 years until the Lord called him home in December of 2003.
The Late Sylvester Madison 2004 - 2009
Pastor Sylvester Madison was called to serve as the 3rd Pastor of our Church. In January of 2005 he was installed as Pastor with his wife by his side. His service to the church did not begin there. He was a faithful Associate Minister for over 25 years serving as the Adult Sunday School teacher. He was the Pastor’s “right hand man” conducting most of the baptismal services. As pastor he built on a foundation of Love and that “Everybody Is Somebody”. Pastor Madison retired in April of 2009.
Elder Michael Key 2010– present
Elder Michael Key was called to Pastor in November of 2011. He along with our First Lady Lisa Key (now Co-Pastor) were installed on January 9, 2011. Our Pastor is a faithful leader and has a passion for empowering people to operate within their gifts. He , through God revealed a new vision for the church which included the restructuring of the Ministry, the development of a new mission that challenges God’s people to excellence...“ When you Learn better, you Live better, When you Live better, you Love better and When you Love better , we are ALL better”.
